In March of this year a group of us got together and put on a Praise Night for the churches in the area. We have stuck together and named ourselves Jubilant Praise. Our last "gig" that we had was for the Simms Valley Fun Days, in the town up the road.
It was a beautiful day! There was a three on three basket ball tournament, horseshoes, a parade and an auction. We were the last event of the day. We set up on a trailer and pulled it into the middle of the town for all to hear. We made it through the sound checks, and as we were doing that the wind started to pick up. Determined to play anyway, we pressed on. Half way through our second song the wind started blowing so strong not only did it blow our music away but it was blowing the drum set over!! Then the rain started to come. We had to cancel our little concert and take shelter in a shop near by.
We wondered why God would allow this to happen but He knows what is best even though we don't see it. Just the other day, I was told that the head of the organization committee really liked what she had heard and told us that we would have a prime spot in the activities next year!! Praise God!!
We must learn to see past the things we see as unfortunate to realize that God sees all. He uses the bad things for good. Trusting in Him is the only way to see the silver lining in the storm clouds.
Next we are headed up to Camp Utmost, to play for a family camp.
